👜 Hospital Bag Essentials (Birth + Mom + Baby)

Packing your hospital bag can feel overwhelming, especially when you see those long, unrealistic lists online.

When I think about this birth compared to my first, my focus is so much clearer:
I’m not packing for “just in case.” I’m packing for support, comfort, and intention.

This list is simple, practical, and centered around what actually helps you feel good during labor, recovery, and those first moments with your baby 🤍

✨ For Labor

Labor is about staying grounded, supported, and as comfortable as possible. These are the things I’m bringing to help me move through it:

  • Labor comb – simple but powerful for pain management

  • Spiky balls – great for counter-pressure and tension release

  • Rebozo – amazing for hip support and movements during labor

  • Electrolytes – staying hydrated = everything during labor. Boobies Superfoods have super yummy and healthy electrolytes available! Use my link for 10%off your order.

  • Light snacks – think easy, quick energy (beef sticks, granola balls, bars, honey sticks). Boobie Superfoods also has great options for bars and cookies, and much more for Mom Support! Use my link for 10%off your order.

  • Water Bottle - Hospital provides but just reminding you in case you want to bring your own! Use my link to buy the best bottles ever and support my work!

    EXTRA:

  • Yoga ball – check if your hospital provides one, but it’s worth bringing if not

  • Labor gown – so you can feel like yourself instead of in a stiff hospital gown

  • Speaker + your favorite playlist – your environment matters more than you think

  • Essential oils / Aromatherapy – grounding + calming (keep it subtle for hospital setting). Highly recommend BadgerBalm’s kit, you’ll find different kinds of support on it and it won’t disturb your birth team!

  • Birth affirmation cards – They can be so helpful to help you ground, feel supported, strong and empowered! Check the link to purchase my own birth affirmation cards, made with a lot of love, from my heart to yours!

  • LED candles or soft lights – helps shift the hospital vibe into something more peaceful if you want.

🌿 For Recovery (Hospital Stay)

After birth, your body deserves softness, care, and support.

Here’s what I’m bringing to feel more like me during recovery:

Ps: Hospitals provide most of them, but if you’re opting for more natural remedies, natural fabrics and prefer using your own products, here are the things on my list:

  • Hemorrhoid ointment – trust me on this one!! (Hospitals will probably have this, but…)

  • Stool softener/Laxative–again, trust me!! I’ll be taking this as soon as I’m transferred to my room!

  • Nipple balm – especially in those early breastfeeding days (Hospitals usually have options but I’m opting for bringing mine)

  • Peri balm – soothing and supportive for healing (Again I’ll be bringing mine)

  • Cotton disposable underwear – breathable and easy (Hospitals have them, but not cotton, so it’s up to you!)

  • Arnica – for swelling and overall recovery support if you prefer natural remedies

  • Hygiene products you use – feeling clean = feeling human again (shampoo, conditioner, soap, body cream)

  • Toothbrush + toothpaste

  • Chapstick

  • Comfy button-up PJs – easy for nursing and skin-to-skin

  • Nursing gown / dress + robe – feeling comfortable matters! That’s what I’m choosing instead of PJs this time.

  • Eye mask – for resting between contractions or postpartum

  • Flip flops + slippers – for showers and walking around

  • Silverettes (silver nursing cups) – amazing for nipple healing

  • Your own water bottle with a straw – easier to stay hydrated specially if you like to keep your water cold like me. Use my link to buy the best bottles ever and support my work!

  • Long cable phone charger – hospital outlets are never where you need them

  • Extra snacks (for after birth too!) – you’ll likely be hungry. Use my link for 10%off your order with Boobie Superfoods.

👶 For Baby

Keep it simple. Your baby truly doesn’t need much.

✨ Tip: Nurses will be in and out often checking on baby, so the easier the outfit is to take on and off, the better.

🤍 A Gentle Reminder

The hospital can feel busy and overwhelming… people coming in and out, things happening quickly…

Come back to this:

  • Stay comfortable

  • Stay hydrated and nourished

  • Give yourself patience and softness

This season is not about being perfectly prepared, it’s about creating space to experience your birth and your baby in a way that feels good and right to you.

Pack light. Pack intentionally.
And trust that you already have everything you need within you 🤍
